  15. <p>     CHARGES DROPPED. Against Floyd Flake, 46, three-term New York
  16. Congressman, and his wife Margarett Flake, 42; for embezzlement
  17. and tax evasion; in New York City. The government accused the
  18. Flakes of pilfering $75,000 from funds intended for an
  19. apartment complex for the elderly sponsored by the New York City
  20. church where Flake is pastor. The Flakes denied the charges,
  21. which the Rev. Jesse Jackson and other African-American leaders
  22. claimed were an example of selective prosecution of black
  23. politicians. Flake promised to pay any back taxes he may owe to
  24. the Internal Revenue Service.
